Nearly three out of 10 people who have diabetes don't even know they have the disease. Find out if you should get tested.

Diabetes is the sixth leading cause of death in the U.S. It is also the leading cause of blindness, kidney failure and lower limb amputations in adults. Having diabetes raises your risk for heart disease, stroke, nerve damage and gum disease.

About 24 million people in the U.S. have diabetes. One fourth of them don't know they have the disease. And 57 million more people have pre-diabetes. Studies show that many people with pre-diabetes will develop type 2 diabetes within the next 10 years.

The weather is finally cooling down! You can press pause for a few months on the fear of a loved one overheating. Fall is a great time to take advantage of the crisp weather with family activities like apple or pumpkin picking. Many of the local orchards have picnic areas or rocking chairs where you can a take a break if need be to enjoy the beautiful surrounding landscape while catching your breath.

Who among us doesn’t dread their yearly dental appointment? You either escape with minor scraping on your gums, or you’re told you need work done to return to good oral health. It would be so easy to completely ignore your oral health as you age, but we are here to tell you why that would be a mistake.
