As you are aware, the situation in relation to the COVID-19 virus is changing daily if not hourly. Because the health of our clients and caregivers is a priority, the clinical team at Mountain Home Care is closely monitoring state and federal updates throughout the day in order to remain current on changes that affect us all.

In response to the most recent state and federal recommendations designed to “flatten the curve” and reduce the spread of COVID-19, effective immediately we are implementing the following protocol:

-If you develop a fever combined with a cough and/or shortness of breath, or have had contact with someone known to have COVID-19, immediately notify the office/after hours on-call scheduler so we can cover your shift(s), then call your healthcare provider.

-If you do not have a healthcare provider and reside in Asheville/Buncombe county, either call an urgent care facility or call the Buncombe health department's communicable disease line at 828-250-5109. There are also drive-thru testing sites at Biltmore Church in Arden located at 35 Clayton Rd, and at UNC-Asheville, parking lot P28 , on University Heights off WT Weaver Blvd. The testing hours throughout the week are from 10 am until 6 pm each day based on test availability.

-If you are a resident of Henderson County, Pardee is hosting a free drive-through screening site daily from 9 am -7 pm. In order to be tested, community members must call the Pardee COVID-19 Helpline at 828-694-8048 before arrival. Testing will be available for people exhibiting symptoms of cough, fever greater than 100 degrees and shortness of breath.

Thank you for all that you do and as always, continue to practice frequent handwashing and check eRSP daily for additional updates.
